Privacy Policy

Last updated: 05/09/2026

The short version: we don't build profiles of you, we don't sell your data, and we don't run tracking cookies or behavioral ad-targeting. We do keep basic, standard server logs for security purposes — the details are below.

What we don't do

What we do collect

Standard server logs

Like almost every website, our servers automatically record basic technical information with each request: your IP address, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. This is standard web server behavior, used only to keep the service secure — detecting and blocking abusive automated traffic, diagnosing outages, and similar operational purposes. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not shared with advertisers.

Search queries

Your search query is processed in order to return results to you. We do not use your search history to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell search data to third parties.

The Dave AI assistant

If you use the "Ask AI" feature, your question (and the search results shown alongside it) is sent to our AI system to generate a response. The same logging principles above apply — used to operate the feature, not to build a profile of you.

Cookies

Regular use of Vexel search does not set tracking cookies. Some site functionality (such as our internal admin tools) uses strictly necessary session cookies for authentication — these are not accessible to or used for tracking regular visitors.

Advertising

A small number of pages (for example, within video results) may display a clearly labeled sponsored placement, served via our advertising platform. These placements are not personalized based on an individual profile of you.

Third-Party Content and Links

Vexel indexes and links to content hosted on third-party websites we do not control. Once you click through to a search result, you are subject to that site's own privacy practices, not ours. This also applies to video and image results, which may be sourced from external platforms.

Publisher Integrations

Vexel's Top Stories feature aggregates publicly published headlines from news publishers who have chosen to integrate with our platform. This involves site-level data (URLs, article titles, timestamps) — no personal data about individual readers is collected or shared as part of this feature.

Data Retention

Standard server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and are not kept indefinitely.

Children's Privacy

Vexel is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your Rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Since we intentionally collect very little (see above), there is generally very little tied to any individual to begin with. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and post material changes here before they take effect.
